Our Story

It all began with an idea.

In February 2024, Hailey Rodgers, fueled by her passion for women's empowerment and the nonprofit sector, set out to bridge a critical gap she had witnessed firsthand. After years of working closely with nonprofit leaders, she saw a persistent challenge—women were missing vital opportunities to connect, learn from one another, and advance in their careers. Despite the sector’s meaningful work, women continued to struggle with access to the support, mentorship, and resources they needed to grow and lead. This realization sparked a deep frustration—and a determination to create change.

With this vision in mind, Hailey launched the Women’s Nonprofit Network (WNN) on LinkedIn, hoping to build a vibrant, collaborative space where women in the sector could support and uplift one another. The response was immediate and overwhelming. Within just a month, membership soared past 200, proving the demand for a dedicated community.

But WNN wasn’t just a LinkedIn group—it was the start of something bigger. Seeing the energy and momentum, Hailey knew this initiative could evolve into a powerful nonprofit dedicated to empowering women across Canada’s nonprofit sector. Today, WNN has grown to over 1,000 members and continues to expand its reach.
