Land Acknowledgement
The Women’s Nonprofit Network recognizes that as a national organization, we are situated on Turtle Island, the traditional territory of Indigenous Peoples who have suffered deep harm and lasting damage due to colonization, systemic oppression, and forced displacement.
These injustices have left enduring wounds that continue to affect Indigenous communities today. It is our responsibility not only to acknowledge this painful history but also to commit to meaningful action in addressing its impacts.
At the Women’s Nonprofit Network, we understand that a Land Acknowledgment is just the beginning. As we collaborate and develop our strategic plan and core programming, we are intentionally integrating the principles of Truth and Reconciliation. This includes fostering genuine partnerships with Indigenous communities and actively supporting initiatives that promote healing and empowerment.
Our commitment to reconciliation is more than a statement—it is a guiding principle that informs every aspect of our organization. We are dedicated to making a lasting impact by contributing to the repair and revitalization of Indigenous cultures, communities, and lands, striving to build a future rooted in respect, equity, and justice.
